Two hard-working young men have alleviated the long years of water challenge at Asanteman Senior High School in the Ashanti Region by constructing a mechanized borehole for the school.

The boys who were part of the 2007 batch of the school don’t understand why their Alma Mater should be in crisis meanwhile the school has produced many people who are now very successful in life.

The step according to them comes on the back of reports on various media platforms that the institution was hit by water crises.

Clement Opoku Gyamfi, DCE for the Amansie South District, and Baba Saddick Adams a Sports Journalist who took it upon themselves believe the gesture will go a long way to reduce the water crises in the school.

Mr. Opoku Gyamfi says he could not bear the news that his Alma Mater was in water difficulty, so he had to quickly collaborate with Saddick to lessen the challenge.

He explains that government can’t solve every problem, therefore they thought it wise to help once they are old Students.

He appealed to old students and other stakeholders to come and help alleviate the numerous problems the school is facing.

On his Part Baba Saddick Adams a Sports Journalist with Angel FM, said the gesture will not be the last considering that a similar donation was done in 2016 where plastic chairs were given to the school.

He assured that they will plan around undertaking a sports complex for the school in the future taking into account the prowess exhibited by the school in every sporting discipline over the years in the region.

The Headmaster of the Asanteman Senior High School Mr. Nathaniel Antwi Asamoah after receiving the donation thanked the students and encouraged them to do more.

He pledged the facilities will be put to good use in order to ensure value for money.

Mr. Asamoah also listed some other challenges and describe them as unbearable.

They include inadequate classroom blocks, toilet facilities, dumping sites, teachers bungalows among others.

He called on government, NGOs, and other individuals to come to the aid of the school.

Some of the students also expressed their excitement, whilst appreciating the old Students for relieving them of their long-awaited water challenge.
