Hasaacas Ladies secured a spot in the final of the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt, after defeating ASFAR of Morocco 2-1 in the semi-finals.

A game of two halves saw both teams striving hard in securing a place in the final of the maiden edition of the competition, was delightful to watch.

However, Hasaacas ladies had their noses Infront after 90 minutes of playing time.

Hasaacas ladies’ Doris Boaduwaa gave her side the lead in the 34th minute. The lead for Hasaacas Ladies only stood for only six minutes as Badri on the 45th leveled the scores for the Moroccans.

After the break, Hasaacas ladies had the opportunity to go ahead after Veronica Appiah got fouled inside the penalty box. Perpetual Agyekum however failed to convert the resultant penalty kick in the 63rd minute.

After several attempts by the team, Evelyn Boadu finally scored the much-needed goal which gave them the win over Asfar.

Captain of Hasaacas ladies, Janet Egyir who won the woman of the match, praised the team for a wonderful performance and pledged that they will put in their all for the ultimate.

Head Coach, Yusif Basigi, congratulated his side and said the work is not yet over, so they will therefore fight to the end.

“I know the final will be tough, but I believe in my ladies and I know as they always listen to my instructions even if we are down, I am convinced we will always come back and get the win”, he said.

Hasaacas Ladies will face Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in the final on Friday, 20th November 2021.
