A driver has died while two others have had their legs broken after an articulated truck carrying two containers fell onto a saloon car at Kasoa Tollbooth on the Kasoa Accra Highway in the Central Region.

The accident happened on Wednesday.

An eyewitness in an interview with EIB Network Central Regional Correspondent Yaw Boagyan said the over speeding long truck heading towards the Kasoa tollbooth, veered off its lane and crashed a Toyota Vitz Saloon car with registration number GC 8384-21 on the opposite lane.

Before crashing the saloon vehicle, the truck ran over a pedestrian breaking his legs.

Whereas the driver died instantly, the other occupant was severely injured with his legs broken as well. The injured persons were rushed to a nearby private health facility for treatment.

The body of the driver has been deposited at the Mortuary while efforts are being made to reach his family members to inform them of the accident.

The Kasoa Police have commenced investigation into circumstances leading to the crash.
