At least four more persons have died from yellow fever in two regions of northern Ghana, the Ghana Health Service has said.

This brings the death toll to 29 “from both Savannah and Upper West Regions as at Friday, 19 November.

Six out of seven district in the regions have now been affected by the outbreak with the latest being central Gonja, North East Gonja and Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District.

The Ghana Health Service says more than 500,000 people in the affected districts have now been vaccinated against the deadly disease.

Meanwhile the Bono Region has recorded two more yellow fever case bringing the count case to 5.

One person has however succumbed to the disease.
