The first accused person in the ongoing trial where some four persons are standing trial for kidnapping two Canadian ladies has accused the prosecution of being dishonest and compromised.

Sampson Agharlor, a Nigerian national, said to be the mastermind of the kidnapping incident told the court in his witness statement that he was arrested together with some others, but those people have been left off.

Opening his defence to respond to the charges including unlawful imprisonment after the prosecution had closed its case, the accused said, the prosecution had been dishonest to the court.

The prosecution led by Hilda Craig, a Senior State Attorney objected to that portion of his witness statement on grounds that such a wild allegation has not been proven.

The Court presided over by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo after listening to the parties said the allegations made against the prosecution have not been proven with concrete evidence and therefore expunged that paragraph from his witness statement.
