A forum to deliberate on the 2016 budget will be held in Accra today.

The forum is being put together by the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), UK, and the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), Ghana.

The guest speaker for the forum will be the Chairman of IFS’ Governing Council and former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Alex Ashiagbor.

Other speakers include Professor Newman Kwadwo Kusi, Executive Director, IFS, and Mr Mark Evans, Africa Economic Analyst, NRGI, with panel discussions led by Dr Amin Adam, Executive Director, Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP); Dr Eric Osei-Assibey, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics, University of Ghana, Legon, and Dr Edward Nketia-Amponsah, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics, University of Ghana, Legon, Dr Ishmael Ackah, Head of Policy, ACEP; Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, Executive Director, Financial Accountability Transparency (FAT) and former Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament, and Major Daniel Ablorh-Quarcoo, former Commissioner of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC).
