Speakers from eighteen Commonwealth African countries led by Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho, Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, are touring the Central Region after three days of brainstorming on topical issues that would strengthen their oversight responsibilities in their various jurisdictions.

Among the historic places to be visited by the delegation are the Assin Manso, Slave Market, Wesley Methodist Cathedral, Cape Coast, as well as the Cape Coast Castle.

The delegation is expected to call on the Central Regional Minister, Aquinas Quansah following which they would participate in a durbar of Chiefs at the Residency.

During the tour, the delegation would be briefed about the rich Ghanaian culture and the history about the places that they would visit.

Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Fritz Baffour, who has indepth knowledge about the country’s rich history, will be their tour guard.

Acting Director of Public Affairs, Parliament of Ghana, Kate Addo, told Kasapafmonline.com that the event was meant for the delegation to refresh members after brainstorming on the continents forward march for three days.

“The event was also designed for the delegation to learn about the rich Ghanaian culture and the history of slave trade during the colonial days,” she added.

The delegation was drawn from Botswana, Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, and Rwanda.

The rest are Swaziland, Tanzania, Lesotho, Uganda, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Seychelles and Zambia.
