The Central Regional Executive election of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) comes off today, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Dunkwa On-Offin in the Upper Denkyira West District.
The Region could not hold its election as all other regions did last week following a court injunction that was placed on the exercise.
This was after the Central Regional Executives led by the Regional Chairman Robert Kutin Junior placed an injunction on the Ekumfi Constituency Election after one of the aspiring Chairmen made allegations of fraud against him (Kutin) in a radio interview.
Some aggrieved Ekumfi constituency executives then also proceeded to court to injunct the Regional elections. But the issue was resolved by the party leadership paving the way for the election to be conducted today.
The incumbent Regional Chairman, Robert Kutin Jnr is seeking re-election to lead the party into the crucial 2024 general elections.
