Nana Beenyi III, has been elected as the Acting President of the Nkusukum Traditional Area, in Saltpond in the Central Region and thus making it to the Central Regional House of Chiefs.

His elevation follows the sacking of Nana Kwesi Brebo III as the Acting President of the Nkusukum Traditional Area, over the latter’s persistent interference in Judicial cases before the House and his uncooperative attitude thereby inhibiting peace and prolonging litigation in the Area.

Addressing a Press Conference at Yamoransa, the new acting President of the Nkusukum Traditional Area Nana Beenyi III who’s the Senior Divisional Chief of the Nkusukum Traditional Area noted that all the Chieftaincy disputes in the Area have been resolved and this will pave way for massive development of the Traditional Area.

He stated that following the settling of the Chieftaincy disputes which have created peace and unity in the area, this year’s Odambea Festival will be celebrated at Yamoransa.

Nana Beenyi III disclosed that he’ll soon be officially introduced to the good people of the Nkusukum Traditional Area.

Nana Kwesi Brebo III who used to be the acting President of Nkusukum Traditional Council was sacked through a letter from the Chieftaincy Ministry.

A letter dated May 28, 2021, issued by the Ministry of Chieftaincy and signed by the Central Regional House of Chiefs Registrar Gloria Seemaa Bamfo said “I am directed by Odeefuo Amoakwa Boadu VIII Breman Asikumahen and President of Central Regional House of Chiefs to bring to your attention a decision of the Standing Committee of the House held on 12th April 2021.

“The Standing Committee has unanimously resolved that, due to your persistent interference in judicial cases and your uncooperative attitude thereby inhibiting the peace and prolonging litigation in the Nkusukum Traditional Area, your services as the Acting President of the Nkusukum Traditional Council cease with immediate effect. The Traditional Council is entreated to present a new Acting President to fill this vacancy at the Central Regional House of Chiefs.”
