Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has described embattled suspended National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Afoko as politically immature.

According to him, Mr Afoko by his conduct following his suspension has amply shown that he lacks the capacity to manage a large party such as the NPP.

The beleaguered Chairman post his suspension few weeks ago, is yet to use the internal party structures to seek redress but has tried to use the courts to fight his case.

The constitutional 21 days by which he has the right to appeal against his suspension will elapse next week.

There has been an upsurge in the internal wrangling of the largest opposition party following Mr Afoko’s suspension by the party’s National Executive Committee.

Several of his supporters besieged the party’s headquarters Thursday demanding his reinstatement, threatening to boycott the 2016 election should the party not comply with request.

Disturbances in Asawase constituency in the Ashanti Region over his suspension led to the stabbing to death of a party supporter on Friday.

But reacting to the killing of Abubakar Saddiq on Joy FM’s News analysis show News File Saturday, Kweku Baako, stated that Mr Afoko has poorly handled the issue of his suspension.

“There are some people who may be very good businessmen and committed to the party but are immature and lack the strategic ability to organise a party like the NPP and that truth must be told,” Baako said angrily.

He noted that Paul Afoko has lost the moral authority to lead the NPP, and may be ineffective in the unlikely event he’s reinstated.

“Even if in the most unlikely situation, Paul Afoko wins legal battles for reinstatement or if he is reinstated by internal party structures, his moral political autority to lead NPP is gone”

He added “You are a Chairman and in this case a suspended chairman. Look I insist, you must subject yourself to the regime of discipline required by the party’s constitution that is how you get your moral authority.”
