Diplomat and elder of the National Democratic Congress, Ambassador Daniel Ohene Agyekum has questioned the conduct, public utterances and insinuations of a onetime aid to the late former president Prof John Evans Attah Mills, Koku Anyidoho regarding the alleged desecration of the former president’s tomb.

A renovation exercise being executed by the Coastal Development Authority and the Attah Mills Institute has become a subject of contention specifically with the redesigning of the tomb at the Asomdwee Park.

Brother of the former president, Samuel Attah Mills raised issues of tradition and superstition accusing the authority and a former aid of Professor Mills – Koku Anyidoho – of carrying out the project without notice to family members.

In a sharp response to the concerns of the former president’s brother, Mr. Anyidoho demanded that Samuel Attah Mills rather busies himself with producing the autopsy report detailing the cause of Prof Mills’ death.

Speaking on Ultimate 106.9 FM in Kumasi, Ambassador Ohene Agyekum questioned the locus of the founder of the Attah Mills institute Korku Anyidoho, whom he insists is usurping the authority of the Attah Mills family in decisions concerning the late president.

“What does Koku really want to achieve? Is he a member of the Attah Mills family? I have known Attah Mills for fifty years before he died. We met at school in 1956. When did he come to know Attah Mills? I know how he became employed at the castle. He doesn’t know Attah Mills; he doesn’t love him more than some of us. And he couldn’t love him more than the family members, his brothers and siblings,” he fumed.

He wants the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the family of the late president to take legal action against Korku Anyidoho for operating an NGO in the name of Professor Attah Mills without authorization from the family nor the party which he has been sacked from.

The Coastal Development Authority has indicated it has not desecrated nor touched the grave beyond replacing the tomb elevation with alucobond panels.
