The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has summoned former Eastern Regional Minister, Antwi Boasiako Sekyere, to answer questions about his participation in Koku Anyidoho’s 10th-anniversary ceremony of late President John Atta Mills.

The NDC in a presser issued on Saturday, July 23, 2022, warned its party members to stay away from participating in the event held on Sunday, July 24th, to commemorate the anniversary since it was sanctioned by the party.

However, Mr. Antwi Boasiako Sekyere defied the directives and graced the event organised by the Atta Mills Institute at the renovated Asomdwee Park, under the leadership of Samuel Koku Anyidoho who has been dismissed from the party.

To worsen matters, the former Minister is believed to have laid a wreath on behalf of the party without its knowledge and authorisation.

The NDC considers, the actions of Mr. Boasiako Sekyere “contravened FEC’s directive and FEC needs an explanation”.

The party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, in a letter, has given the accused until the close of Tuesday, August 16, 2022, to appear before its Functional Executive Committee for a query.

“Consequently, you are by this letter hereby invited to meet with the FEC on Tuesday, the 16th of August, 2022 at 2 pm at the second floor conference room of the national headquarters for a discussion on the matter. Please endeavor to attend and on time.”
