The lifeless body of a 16-year-old boy, Kwesi Akuffo-Addo, suspected to have drowned in a stream in Nkwanta in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, has been found in the Brafor Stream.

This is after challenging his friends in an argument that he can swim in a river.

Friends of the victim had earlier reported the incident to the Nkwanta Unit Committee Member, Mr Kwesi Amfoh on Monday, August 15, 2022, around 1:00 PM.

Based on this complaint, the Unit Committee Member and Okyeame Okanto proceeded to the scene and confirmed the incident.

In an interview with Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan, the Chief of the area, Nana Essandoh said the search team was constituted to find the boy but he was nowhere to be found.

The deceased was finally traced after pouring of libation.

The body of the teenager has been conveyed to the Saltpond Government Hospital Mortuary.
