A local Government expert, Mr Solomon Kotei, has underscored the need for all six municipalities in the Greater Accra Region to each own a Central Business District (CBD).

This he said would ease the overwhelming pressure on the main Central Business District.

He told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM that 80% of the people that troop to the main CBD are mainly traders, engaged in various forms of trade.

“We have at least 6 municipalities in the region; why can’t we have CBDs for each of them to reduce the pressure,”

His argument comes on the heels of Wednesday’s floods in the national Capital, Accra.

The torrential rains together with an inferno at the Nkrumah Circle Goil filling station has claimed many lives, officials say.
