Member of Parliament of Atwimah Nwabiagya South Constituency Emmanuel Adjei Ahwire has been chased out by his constituents in the Amankyea and Kobeng communities of the Ashanti region.

Unfortunately, angry community members of Kobeng who were disappointed in the performance of the MP upon seeing him started abusing him verbally while others were attacking him from behind.

The angry residents threw various items at the MP and hooted at him as well, over the poor road network in the area.

It took security officers to calm tension and shield the MP from angry residents after he attempted to address them.

Speaking On Abusua FM the Ashanti MP’s caucus Vice Chairman who confirmed the attack said, he was not hurt but failed to confirm is physically assaulted.

The MP told Abusua FM his constituents have every right to protest against him because all developmental projects in the constituency have been abandoned under situations beyond government control as a result of COVID-19 and the Russian-Ukraine war.

He assured, them that their concerns have already been presented to the road minister with appropriate action to be taken before his unfortunate attack.

This is the second time a Member of Parliament has been attacked in the Ashanti Region, the stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the lack of development in their constituency.
