Chiefs and elders of Ajumako Ochiso in the Central Region have condemned some residents who killed and consumed a python in the area last week, describing their action as an abomination.
According to the Chief, Nana Kwesi Akorful, he believes the 14-foot snake was a god which shouldn’t have been killed and eaten, the reason why he and his elders will perform rituals to fight against any calamity that may the killing of the reptile may bring to the community.
Addressing the media, the chief indicated that the persons who killed the snake and consumed it will be summoned to the palace to answer questions.
Those who killed the snake and dressed the snake meat had indicated that they’ll use some of the meat for a kebab and sell it to the food joints in the areas as snake meat is their delicacy. They said the rest will be used to prepare medicine and also make drums.
However, Nana Kwesi Akorful vehemently denied the claim that snake meat is the favorite of the people of Ajumako Ochiso.
