The chief of Obomeng in Kwahu South Municipality of Eastern Region Nana Effah Opinaman II is set to lead a cleanup exercise tomorrow on Nkawkaw Obomeng road over choked gutters.
This follows a documentary filed by EIB Network’s Nkawkaw-based Agoo FM on the need to ensure choked gutters are cleaned as erosion keeps destroying the road. (Watch the full report here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y-oAYmuzM8 )
Speaking on Agoo FM Morning Show today, Nana Effah Opinaman expressed the need to engage in the exercise appealing to individuals, agencies, and other groups to support this initiative.
“We’re not only cleaning the gutters but the roadside will also be cleared. The exercise will start at 6:00 am so we expect more people to join us to help protect the road’’. He told Obaahemaa Yaa Mirekua.
Information gathered indicates that erosion is gradually causing damage to the Nkawkaw Obomeng road since most of the gutters are choked. The choked gutters were caused by littering and weeds.
