None of the candidates sitting for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region is pregnant.

This is in sharp contrast with the situation in 2021 where over 25 Candidates wrote the exams during their pregnancy.

Sixty-Three Thousand One Hundred and Eighty-Seven Candidates are sitting for the examination in the Central Region which started on Monday October 17, 2022.

In Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, 2,919 Candidates were at their various Centres to write the Exams of which 1,497 are male and 1,422 are female from 109 schools.

The Centres include Ajumako, Ajumako Osedze, Ajumako Ocheso, Bisease, Enyan Denkyira, Enyan Maim, Etsii Sonkwa, Ajumako Mando.

Speaking in an interview with Kasapa FM News Yaw Boagyan, the District Director of Education for Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Mrs. Sabina Aba Wilson noted that this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination is the most peaceful one she has ever witnessed since she became the Education Director for the District.

She congratulate all the Female Candidates who wrote the Examination for keeping themselves safe from teenage pregnancy.

Mrs. Sabina Aba Wilson also thanked all the hardworking Teachers in the District for giving their Candidates proper counseling for them to stay away from teenage pregnancy and early sex.
