A man in his late 30s known as Yayah has been arrested after he attempted suicide by climbing a telecom mast at Kasoa CP in the Awutu Senya East Municipality.

Sources say the suspect was spotted climbing the MTN mast and was advised by some residents to stop but he ignored them and climbed further.

Sensing danger, some good Samaritans climbed the Mast and rescued him.

He was then handed over to the police for investigation.

Reports say the young man had reportedly earlier complained about economic hardship as he’d completed tertiary education and is unemployed for several years despite writing several application letters.

It would be recalled that last month a man climbed an ECG High tension pole with over 26,000 voltage and was electrocuted to death instantly at Kasoa Galilea.
