Hungry Students of Ajumako Mando Senior High School in the Central Region have threatened to boycott classes and school activities as they can’t continue schooling on empty stomachs.

The students in an interview with Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan said the school authorities are unable to feed them regularly due to food shortage.

They claim they now eat once a day, and sometimes no food throughout the day especially weekends.

Some of the students have indicated that should the situation continue till vacation, they may not resume school when school reopens.

They claim the quality of the food they eat is poor and also the quantity inadequate as twenty students share one tin of sardine whenever they eat Kenkey.

“The poor nature of food being served at the dinning hall has discouraged most of us from going for dining. We prefer staying hungry than to eat tasteless food” some of the students said.

The students are calling on the government to support the school with enough food to eat to enable them concentrate on their academic activities.

They also appeal to the old students of the School and Philanthropists to support the school with enough food as food shortage has hit the school for the passed six months.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach school authorities to respond to the issues raised by the students proved futile.
