The Municipal Chief Executive for Ga West, Sam Atukwei Quaye, has said his office is taking a bold step to demolish all unauthorized buildings within the jurisdiction as a precautionary measure.
A team of officials from the assembly led by the MCE went round to demolish houses allegedly built on waterways at Mile 7, Achimota, which is a suburb in the municipal.
Hundreds of residents have been displaced as a result of the exercise.
Speaking to Kwaku Owusu Agyei Frimpong on Si Me So on Kasapa 102.3 FM, the MCE said his office was prepared to do the right despite the protests.
Owners of a Filling station sited in a residential area within the municipal, and operating the facility without permit have been given an ultimatum of two days to shut it down or risk having it demolished.
