Seven (7) passengers died on the spot while eight others are in critical condition in a accident which occurred at Gomoa Anteadze on the Kasoa Cape Coast Highway.

The injured are receiving treatment at Apam St Luke catholic Hospital, Mankesim Hospital and Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital respectively.

Eyewitnesses say the driver of a Benz Sprinter minibus lost control after he tried to overtake another Benz Bus during a race between the two drivers.

Apam Fire Service Commander ACFO Ankomah Nuamah in an interview with Kasapa News, Yaw Boagyan said one of the buses somersaulted several times before hitting a tree on the roadside.

The accident resulted in the instant death of three females and four males.

Meanwhile DCE for Gomoa West Bismarck Nkum also charged Transport Unions to organize workshops for their drivers to reduce accident on the Kasoa Cape Coast Highway.

The body of the deceased have been deposited at the Apam government hospital Mortuary.

Police have commenced investigation into the accident.
