The Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Suame, Mr Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has defended parliament’s decision to review its standing orders.
He told Kwaku Owusu Agyei Frimpong on Si Me So on Kasapa 102.3 FM:
“Our Constitution limits the powers of the legislator; you can’t have this practice elsewhere where the rule of law and democracy is effective.”
The review he says has become necessary to ultimately address the situation where the power given to parliament to check the executive is limited.
