The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed the leadership of the Majority caucus to endeavor in getting all Members of Parliament on their side to chamber on Friday March 24, 2023.

The Minority Caucus is insisting on rejecting the six new nominees by President Akufo-Addo until certain conditions including amendments to the controversial Constitutional Instrument (CI) from the Electoral Commission (EC).

The situation compelled the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin to defer decision on the report to Friday March 24, 2023.

In a statement signed by the General Secretary of NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong while commending the Majority side for their hard work so far also entreated the leadership to bring all members to the chamber for Parliamentary business.

“The leadership of the New Patriotic Party following the outcome of the proceedings of Parliament on Thursday, March 24, 2023 hereby urges all members of the Majority Caucus to be present at the House to fully participate in all parliamentary proceedings and voting scheduled for the day.

“The Party continues to appreciate the efforts of the Majority Caucus in getting the business of the House done despite its latent challenges,” the General Secretary stated.
