The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), is delighted that road crashes and related incidents reduced drastically during this year’s Easter celebrations as compared to previous years.

A report by the Ghana Police Service for the period of April 7, 2023, to April 10, 2023, recorded 154 reported cases nationwide.

The total number of vehicles involved thus commercial, private, and motorcycles were 83, 112, and 66 respectively summing up to 261 cases. The pedestrian knockdown recorded was 20, the total number of persons killed was 30 and the injured was 131.

Speaking on Agoo FM morning show, ENNE NSO BIOM, the PRO of the National Road Safety Authority, Mrs. Pearl Adusu Satekla indicated that the nationwide report should be encouraged and advised motorists to be disciplined on the roads while pleading for the government to fix the poor roads in the country.

She expressed her gratitude to the media and other stakeholders for their help in the road safety awareness creation which has manifested within the first quarter of 2023.
