An aspiring flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor says his son Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Junior will win the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency primaries to lead the party into the 2024 elections.

“I have blessed my son to win the elections and become MP. He had his Ph.D. at the age of 28 years and is 40 now. He is more than ripe to lead the Constituency”

“I am supporting him fully, no question about that. My son consulted me and I Okayed him going for it. He has my support,” he revealed.

The former governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) also expressed confidence that his son will win primaries adding that the party needs a change.

“He is my son and I am supporting him fully, I am supporting him to win and he will win.”

Meanwhile, the Ashanti regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary Primaries vetting Committee has cleared Dr. Kwabena Duffuor II as a party member in good standing to contest Party’s 13th May 2023 Parliamentary primaries in the Sekyere Drobosno constituency.

Dr. Duffuor II was on Monday 1st May 2023, led by some Ashanti regional and constituency executives, delegations and polling station executives of the Sekyere Drobosno constituency for vetting at the party Ashanti headquarters.

The Economist who is tipped to win the election with about 70% votes when he arrived at the Ashanti regional office of the party charged the atmosphere as there was drumming, singing and dancing while party members scrambled to give him a handshake.
