Aspiring flag bearer for the NDC, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has this morning received a rousing welcome to the Obuasi West constituency in the Ashanti region as part of his campaign tour in the region.
His campaign in the region started from the Obuasi East constituency.
Delivering a welcome addressing the Obuasi West constituency chairman Alhaji Karim Seidu commended the NDC’s Flagbearer hopeful Dr. Kwabena Duffuor of the great support he continues to do for the party.
“As I welcome you to the constituency I will first want to thank you for the implementation of the Ahoto project. Currently, we conduct party activities in the constituency without hiring furniture canopy and sound system, saving the party’s money and also raising money for party activities”.
Former national Organizer of the party called on the party delegates to vote for Dr. Kwabena Duffuor to lead the party into election 2024.
He said the NDC cannot afford to lose elections in 2024.
“In 2016 our sitting President lost the election painfully to the NPP. In 2020 we presented the same candidate and we again lost. This means the majority of Ghanaians don’t believe in our candidate. Therefore, I will call on you to change hands for the party’s victory in 2024.
“If you vote for me as your leader we will build constituency offices across the region. We will also pay you the constituency executive.”
He further explained that “my strategy is to invest for the party to manage begging for funds during elections related activities.
“I know you, the grassroot are struggling but we will change the narrative by creating opportunities that will transform you party grassroot and the nation at large”.
He apologized to the NDC cadres who have been neglected by the party for years in the dying age at a particular time that they are not physically strong enough to do any profitable work.
“If you elect me as your leader. We will create special fund for you the founding fathers of the party.”
He urged all the women’s wings among others to vote massively for him to lead the party.
“This election is a family contest. Let’s not fight to create division for us during this contest. After this contest we will all work together to win the general election.”
