Two teenagers have met their untimely death after they were bitten by a dog at Awutu Bereku in the Central Region in a suspected case of rabies on Tuesday.

Eight other teenagers who suffered dog bite are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Yaa Tawiah, mother of one of the deceased boys, Samuel Ofosu in an interview with Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan said her son complained of heart pains just after the dog whose owner is unknown bit him.

According to her, the son behaved like a dog before he died.

Residents say they are now afraid to allow their wards to go to school alone for fear of being bitten by dog as most of the victims so far are teenagers.

They are calling on the Chiefs and elders to cause the killing of stray dogs in the community to prevent further bites.
