A Clinical Psychologist at the Accra Pyschiatric Hospital, Dr. Dinah Odoom says a woman stripped naked at Kupelga in the Upper East Region and subjected to inhumane and degrading treatment by some group of men must be offered immediate psychological support.

A viral video some men were seen stripping the lady naked while others opened her legs wide and took pictures of her private part. She was later hit with an object on her face injuring her in the process.

As she was unable to bear the inhumane treatment anymore, the traumatized victim ran into a nearby bush to free herself from her attackers.

Commenting on the issue in an interview on Ghana Kasa show on Kasapa FM/Agoo TV, Dr. Dinah Odoom said a timely help offered the victim will help her live a comfortable life after her ordeal.

She however said that it will be very difficult for the victim to completely forget the inhumane treatment meted out to her.

Relocating her from the area will help a bit but that won’t erase what she’s been subjected to from her memory. Even if she leaves the area for let’s say Accra, whenever she hears anyone speaking her language, psychologically she’ll have a recall of the incident. The most important thing is for her to get psychological support and that must be immediate.

Meanwhile, the Police have arrested four suspects at Kupelga in connection with the viral video in which a female victim is seen being subjected to inhumane and degrading treatment by a group of people.
