It was a momentous event at the palace of the Otumfuo Taasen Hene when Ace Broadcaster Kwadwo Bawuah Adu-Gyamfi took the oath of allegiance to assume the stool of Nkosohene.

Affectionately known in media circles as Abesiriwa, he is popular for his Atigya, Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mawu, AHINTASEM and M’asem Shows which he hosted on EIB’s Abusua 96.5 FM in the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi.

Swearing him in, Otumfuo Taasen hene Nana Agyemang Duah I, extolled him for his depth of wisdom and application of understanding to matters of human development and conflict resolution.

“I have known you for years and have never seen that you have defamed anyone in your practice as a media personality. You have shared a lot of wise counsel with me in my rein.

“You never asked me for a stool. But as I went into deep thought considering whom to give this stool of development to, you stood favorably for this position,” he eulogized.

Flanked by the Business Manager of Abusua FM Daniel Aggrey and other managers and staff of Abusua FM, family, friends and well-wishers, Abesiriwa was accorded the stool name Nana Bawuah Adu Gyamfi Sika I.

Nana Agyemang Duah challenged him to champion the development of his chieftain and advised him not to desert the stool for foreign travels as some other peripheral chiefs are known for.

In his acceptance speech, Nana Adu Gyamfi Sika I, gave assurances to uphold the dignity of his office and to lobby strategic ties for the development of the people.

Abesiriwa who was ordained a Reverend Minister in the year 2017, has worked for Radio Mercury, Fox FM, Metro FM, Boss FM; OTEC FM and Abusua 96.5 FM.

Colleagues from the media fraternity joined in the celebration to lend their support and best wishes to the newly inducted chief.

For his position, Nana Bawua Adu Gyamfi Sika I is seized with the responsibility of overseeing, championing and coordinating the total socio-economic development of his jurisdiction.

The coronation event also saw the swearing in of a Gyaase hene, Kyidom hene, Baamu hene and Obaapanyin of the Atwima Boko traditional area.
