Mampong Technical College of Education (MTCE) in the Ashanti region has been closed down Tuesday by school authorities, after a rumpus by some students protesting their alleged dismissal.
A total of 274 out 504 students who were alleged to have failed in some selected subjects in their general course and Maths as well were asked to go home, because they failed to meet the pass marks in those subjects.
Albert Yeboah, a student at the College who spoke to Kasapa News said that a lot of the students were unable to make it in these subjects as they were pressured to take those papers, or risked being sacked from the school, hence the massive record of low performance in those subjects.
“Authorities have not been fair to us because that wasn’t the option given to us when we enrolled at the school in our first year… which was the more reason why the students protested, he disclosed.
