Two persons have been burnt to death at Assin Bereku, the capital of Assin North in the Central Region Thursday, July 13, 2023, after they attempted to kill a 63-year-woman in her room.
The victim (woman) who was inflicted with cutlass wound is currently receiving treatment at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.
Angered by the development, the youth embarked on a search in the bush where the two suspects who had gone into hiding were arrested.
The suspect who are not known in the town were lynched and set on fire to death.
The Tufohene of Assin Breku, Nana Kotroka Frimpong Baah, in an attempt to save the suspects was nearly attacked by the incensed youth.
The body of the deceased have been deposited at the Assin Fosu St. Xavier Government Hospital Mortuary.
Meanwhile, the Central North Regional Police Command has commenced investigation into the matter.
