Greetings! Are you intrigued by my headline? “Julius Debrah as a running mate for Mahama: Julius & Bryan from Kwahu as Presidents soon.” Fear not, let me clarify and captivate your attention as you delve into this read.

Kwahu, an area blessed with abundant wonders, offers a breathtaking environment, picturesque tourist sites, the majestic Odweanoma mountain, top-notch hotels, and renowned educational institutions like St. Peters Senior High School and a leading Nursing and Midwifery College.

Moreover, Kwahu has given birth to some of Ghana’s finest musicians, including the esteemed highlife King, the late Nana Kwame Ampadu. Other notable musical talents like Obuoba J.A Adofo, Kojo Antwi (Mr. Music Man), Samuel Owusu, Obrafour, Wendy Shay, and numerous other celebrities hail from this remarkable region.

Additionally, Kwahu takes pride in nurturing successful entrepreneurs who have established well-known businesses not only in Accra and Kumasi but across the nation.

Beyond being a hub of business-minded individuals, Kwahu holds a significant place in Ghana’s political landscape. Now, allow me to introduce two prominent personalities from Kwahu whom I believe possess the potential to become outstanding leaders in Ghana’s political sphere.

Firstly, Julius Debrah, a prominent figure within the National Democratic Congress, has caught my attention. With his experience and expertise, he has the makings of a remarkable leader.

Secondly, we have Bryan Acheampong, a distinguished member of the New Patriotic Party, whose leadership qualities and dedication to the nation make him a noteworthy contender.

Both Julius Debrah and Bryan Acheampong stand as presidential material with immense potential to lead Ghana toward a brighter future. Having closely monitored their actions and achievements, I am convinced of their capability to make a positive impact on Ghanaian politics.

So, let us keep an eye on these two exceptional personalities from Kwahu, who could very well become the future leaders of Ghana, steering the country toward prosperity and progress.

Mr. Julius Debrah experienced a setback in 2012 when he lost his bid to become the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Suhum Constituency during the elections. However, his fortunes changed in 2013 when he received his first appointment under President John Dramani Mahama as the Eastern Regional Minister.

After initially reporting to Koforidua for the handing over process, Mr. Julius Debrah was later reappointed for the Greater Accra Region. His dedication and hard work led to another reassignment to the Eastern Region, where he served for four months in a ministerial position.

Recognized for his commitment and achievements, he was subsequently appointed as the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development. One of the highlights of his political career was serving as the Chief of Staff in 2015.

Mr. Julius Debrah hails from Kwahu and attended Mpraeso Secondary School before continuing his education at Achimota Secondary School for his A-levels between 1987 and 1989. His academic journey later led him to the University of Ghana, where he earned a BA in Archaeology and Sociology.

Before his political career, he found business success. Mr. Debrah’s roots in Obomeng Kwahu trace back to the royal Aduana clan, and he spent 18 years of his professional life in the hospitality, real estate, and agriculture sectors.

Throughout his life, Mr. Julius Debrah has maintained an untarnished reputation and has never been associated with any corruption-related issues.

He is widely regarded as a gentleman possessing all the qualities necessary to potentially become the future president of the country. Many see him as a strong presidential candidate, and if appointed as the running mate for the NDC in the 2024 election, it is believed that he could help the party secure more votes from the Kwahu region.

The intriguing aspect of these two personalities is their shared ambition to become Members of Parliament for the Suhum Constituency. However, their journeys took different paths.

In 2012, Mr. Julius Debrah’s attempt to become the MP for Suhum ended in defeat. Similarly, in 2008, Dr. Bryan Acheampong could not secure enough votes to become a Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party.

Despite not losing to his contender, Bryan Acheampong faced a tied contest on two occasions, leading the party to advise him to step down. It is worth noting that he demonstrated true statesmanship by gracefully accepting the party’s decision without resorting to legal action.

Today, Bryan Acheampong’s remarkable history at Suhum deserves attention, but it is essential to highlight his dignified response to the party’s decision. So, who is Bryan Acheampong, and what makes him a potential Presidential candidate? To be continued…
