President Nana Akufo-Addo has acknowledged the fact that times are hard due to the economic crisis in the country.

Speaking to the media during the New Patriotic Party’s Super Delegates Congress, on Saturday, August 26, President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence that the party would select a competent new leader who will work hard to take the country out of the difficulties it finds itself.

“It’s difficult, I’m the first to admit it. I have said it several times, but at the end of the day I believe when the moment comes, Ghanaians will reflect on who best can get us out of this difficulty and take us to the next stage and that is the New Patriotic Party,” he said.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is today, Saturday, August 26, 2023, electing five Flagbearer aspirants to contest the party’s Presidential primary on 4th November 2023.

The 10 aspirants are: Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Former Agriculture Minister, Alan Kyerematen, former Trade Minister, Joe Ghartey, former Railways Minister, Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, Kwadwo Poku, an energy expert, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, former party General Secretary, Boakye Agyarko, former Energy Minister
Kofi Konadu Apraku, former Trade Minister, Francis Addai Nimoh, former MP for Mampong.

The election which will see over 900 delegates voting will take place across the country.

The top five aspirants with the highest number of votes will take part in the main election on 4th November 2023, to elect a Flagbearer for the party going into the 2024 general election.
