The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has stated emphatically that he does not have any working relationship with the former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu.
Taking his turn before the seven-member parliamentary committee investigation the leaked tape which contained a plot to oust him as IGP, Dr. Dampare said: “I do not have any working relationship with him (Bugri Naabu)”.
The IGP also firmly denied hiring Bugri Naabu to covertly capture the tape when asked if that is what happened.
On Monday, August 28, 2023, when Bugri Naabu appeared before the committee, he stated that he got someone to record the conversation and affirmed the accuracy of the leaked recording.
