The Parliamentary ad hoc committee investigating the secret tape allegedly plotting the removal of Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare as IGP will resume its session today, Tuesday October 10, 2023.
The Committee commenced its work on July 25, after an audio recording surfaced featuring discussions between a Police Commissioner and a politician seeking to remove the IGP from office.
Before suspending its sittings, the Chairman of the Committee, Samuel Atta Akyea disclosed that a second leaked tape believed to be an extended version of the original was submitted by Chief Naabu.
So far, several individuals including COP George Alex Mensah, Superintendents George Asare and Gyebi and the IGP have all appeared before the committee.
The objective of the Committee is to investigate the authenticity and implication of the recordings.
