NPP grassroots delegates who were supporters of Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten former Minister for Trade and Industry and NPP flagbearer hopeful Ken Agyapong in the Offinso North, Offinso south and Afigya Kwabere Constituencies in the Ashanti region have declared the support for Vice President Dr Mahammadu Bawumia.

Speaking at a news conference, the group spokesperson who doubles as the Offinso North Constituency Vice Chairman for the party, Dauda Afriyie said “although they believed in the Alan Kyerematen’s vision for Ghana, his resignation from the NPP ahead of the November 4th, 2023, presidential primaries has compelled them to work and vote for a credible candidate who is equally competent to lead NPP and Ghana’’.

He described Alan’s resignation as shocking. “I was shocked when I heard the resignation news of Alan from the NPP. That’s past now and I have moved on. I was responsible for coordination of his campaign activities in 15 constituencies. I was earlier invited to work for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong but I declined to join the winning team. We are very few here now but trust me there are a lot of people I’m bringing to the camp of Dr. Bawumia from Alan’s Camp within the NPP’’ he assured.

He also called all supporters of Alan Kyereman and Kennedy to emulate their open support to Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and give him overwhelming endorsement on 4th November 2023.

Ahead of the 4th November election, campaign activities by Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and Vice president Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia have been intensified across the region during day and night hours and other strategic meetings.

Kennedy Agyapong appears to be making a lot of impact at the grassroots level threatening the vote target of Dr. Bawumia in the Ashanti region.

To achieve the target of over 80% votes in the Ashanti region the stronghold of the governing New Patriotic Party, second lady Samiratu Bawumia is beginning a 3-day campaign tour in the Ashanti region effective today.

She is scheduled to meet regional executives, constituency executives, polling station executives, coordinators and party delegates.

The first lady three days campaign tour is expected to shed more light on the need for the party delegates to consider her husband Dr. Bawumia as the best candidate to the lead the NPP into elections 2024 and smoothen the party’s chances of “breaking the 8” target in elections 2024.
