A 19-year-old Factory Hand at the Kaneshie Industrial Area has been sentenced to life imprisonment after he was found guilty for murder.

Michael Tetteh was found guilty after a seven-member jury panel returned a unanimous guilty verdict against him after full trial.

The convict was said to have stabbed a 19-year-old boy Patrick Gyasi with a broken bottle on the chest after a disagreement on June 16, 2018, at Otumfuo Bar at Oduman.

Following the unanimous verdict from the jury, the Court Presided over by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo handed him the life sentence in accordance with the amended law, which repealed the death sentence with life imprisonment.

EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent, Murtala Inusah reports that, the convict broke down in tears while being carried away to begin his life sentence.
