The founder of defunct gold buying firm, Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1 says he will in the coming days publicly put out certain wrongs the Bank of Ghana did against his company.

According to him, a lot of bad things were deliberately done against Menzgold for which he can no longer keep quite over.

“I have issues with BoG and I will speak about it publicly very soon for everyone to know what happened. The wrongs that the BoG did to Menzgold, a lot of bad things happened and I will put that out in the coming days,” he said in an interview on Ghana Kasa show on Kasapa 102.5FM/Agoo TV Wednesday.

“I have been quiet in the last five years and have been falsely accused, but I can’t continue to be mute about what happened. Now, the case is in court and so I will soon start talking. I will also state my case publicly for all to know that I never did anything wrong,” the businessman told host of the show Bonohene Baffuor Awuah.

Meanwhile, the Police have deposited an amount of GH₵2.5 Million received  from suspect Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as Nam 1 in the Police Exhibit account at the Bank of Ghana (BoG) for the attention of the Court.

The police received the amount on Friday 20th October 2023, on the advice of the Office of the Attorney-General.

A statement issued by the Police said “the amount is part of investigations into petitions received from some customers of MenzGold Ghana Company Limited and Brew Marketing Consult Limited, currently before the Accra High Court against suspect Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as Nam 1.”

The Police stated that the decision on the disbursement of the money would be determined by the court.
