The Police are on a manhunt for two persons who attacked the coach of Nsoatreman FC, Mr. Maxwell Konadu, during a football game, yesterday, 19th November 2023, at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
The coach who sustained a head injury during the attack is currently receiving medical attention.
A statement issued by the Police said “We wish to assure the public that we will surely get the suspects arrested to face justice.”
Background
At the crack of the whistle, Coronation Park patrons stormed the field, with some even taking a swing at the former Black Stars player.
In the meantime, neither team was able to find the back of the net in a hotly contested match.
Konadu’s charges played a strong defensive game, making sure Sunyani lost by no means.
Following the report from the match commissioner of the game in Sunyani, the Ghana Football Association is anticipated to take action.
After 16 years away, Bofoakwa Tano earned a promotion to the Ghana Premier League at the conclusion of the last 16.
