The capital of the Ashanti region, Kumasi, came to a standstill between the hours of 6am to 1pm when Mr. Alan Kyerematen led his Movement For Change to walk from the Bekwai Roundabout to the Kumasi City Mall.

Clad in their Yellow and popularly referred to as the Yellow Army and numbering close to 500,000, the Movement for Change sang through the principal streets of the city and were of the view that the Ashanti region is now for Mr. Alan Kyerematen and his movement.

In 2022, supporters of Mr.Kyerematen organized aduru ne so walk for him which walk he never took part. Ever since he formed his Movement for Change and indicated that he will contest as an Independent Presidential candidate, some Ghanaians have wondered whether those numbers he had on the street of Kumasi were because of his membership of the NPP.

If anybody had any doubt about the popularity of Mr.Kyerematen, then the numbers that thronged into the Street must settle the question.

It will therefore be politically suicidal for any political party to think that the butterfly movement for that matter Mr. Alan Kyerematen will just be engaging in business as usual come 2024.

People in buses, taxis and trotro were full of praise to him for his sense of focus and determination and have assured him of their unflinching support come 2024.
