Some Chiefs in the Mfantseman Constituency of the Central Region have urged New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Constituency not to vote against incumbent Member of Parliament, Ophilia Mensah Hyaford in the upcoming primary.

They said, Hon.Ophilia Mensah Heyford is the only female MP the constituency has ever had and considering she’s hard working, she must be voted for and maintained to continue with her good work.

According to the Chiefs, the MP has their support hence urged the delegates to vote massively for her so they (chiefs) could also vote for her during the main Parliamentary election come 7th December 2024.

“We the Chiefs here are not going to joke with this your primaries and the general election this time. NPP should maintain the Mfantseman seat once again,” Chief of Biriwa and the Ankobeahen of Abeadze Dominase Traditional Area.

The Chiefs were addressing the over 300 Mfantseman NPP Delegates after the Incumbent Member of Parliament filed her nomination forms to contest the Mfantseman Constituency seat said “No Delegates should dream of voting against Ophilia Mensah Heyford in the upcoming primaries, we are looking forward for 100% from you and you will see our next actions fully in politics” they added.

The MP, Hon. Ophilia Mensah Heyford said she is optimistic of continuing her work as Member of Parliament and vowed to work with others to ensure the NPP wins in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Mfantseman.

According to her, NDC has nothing better to offer Ghanaians, as such they should stay in opposition.

Meanwhile, the Mfantseman Constituency Chairman Nathaniel Owusu and the Mfantseman Municipal Chief Executive, Ike Lord Ennu have pledged their support for the incumbent Member of Parliament and have promised to campaign for her to win the upcoming primary.
