A local governance expert, Dr. Richard Fiadomor says the Flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has no iota of credibility.
Dr. Bawumia on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 unveiled his vision for Ghana at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, (UPSA). This is coming after he was elected the Presidential candidate of the NPP.
He mentioned a raft of policies and measures he intends to roll out to put the country back on the road of economic prosperity promising among other things to scrap a number of taxes.
The veep added that even though the Economic Management Team which he chairs is just an advisory body, he’s very proud of the advise produced to the Akufo-Addo government.
But speaking on Ghana Kasa show on Kasapa 102.5FM Thursday, Dr. Fiadomor who’s the President of the Chamber of Local Governace, slammed the Vice President for not being able to walk his talk after making so much noise while in opposition.
”Bawumia in opposing wrote 170 questions for then Vice President Amissah-Arthur to answer. At the time he [Bawumia] wrote te questions, Amissah Arthur was not the President, he was the Veep and Head of the Economic Management Team and he expected Amissah-Arthur to answer those questions. Today, the same person is telling Ghanaians that the Economic Management Team is a sub-committee to Cabinet and they can only offer advice. So, on what basis did he write the questions demanding answers from Amissah Arthur. Did Bawumia get to know that the EMT is just an advisory body only after becoming the Vice President?
”This same Bawumia launched the Economic Management team and boasted about the individuals who make the team. He named the likes of Prof. Gyan Baffuor, Osafo Maafo, Alan Kyerematen among others. He then asked the opposition NDC if they can boast of such fine brains in their party. So if you were just an advisory body why that hype, what was the essence? It was just a waste of the taxpayers money. Apart from Bawumia being an ungrateful person, he is someone who lacks credibility.”
