Former Minister for Youth and Sports, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed has died.

The former Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North is reported to have passed on, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

He was appointed Minister of Youth and Sports by then President John Dramani Mahama in March 2015, succeeding Mahama Ayariga of Bawku Central.

But his tenure as minister was short, as he was replaced by Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye less than a year later in a government reshuffle.

Dr. Ahmed, a dental surgeon by profession, served as MP from 2001 to 2016. 

The late legislator lost to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primary twice to incumbent Member of Parliament, Yussif Jajah.
