The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has asked the newly appointed Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, to promptly put in place a comprehensive programme to address the current economic hardship facing the country.

Otumfuo underscored the importance of collaboration with the Ministry’s staff and urged Dr Adam to consider their insights.

He commended the former Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta for initiating measures to address the economic difficulties and encouraged the new Finance Minister to build upon those efforts for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

The minister who is on a working to tour to the Ashanti region since his appointment into office last week first paid a courtesy call on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in Manhyia Palace to seek his blessing.

Expressing confidence in Dr Mohammed Amin Adam’s ability to lead the country’s economic improvement, Otumfuo encouraged him to implement effective policies and measures.

He highlighted the high expectations placed on financial leadership and underscored the President’s trust in the Finance Minister’s capabilities.

Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam in response to Otumfuo’s advise stated that President Nana Akufo Addo has assigned him the responsibility of overseeing the completion of all stalled infrastructure projects in the Ashanti Region.

He said, the economic challenge the country faced last year stalled majority of the government infrastructural projects across the country.

He assured the government is committed to completing the projects as soon as possible to restore comfort to the residents of the region.
