Ghana has won its first medals at the ongoing African Games after Weightlifter Winnifred Ntumi secured Team Ghana’s first medal in the 2023 African Games.
Winnifred Ntumi first won silver for Ghana in the Women’s 49kg snatch before securing another silver medal in the 49 kg Clean and jerk.
Winnifred Ntumi then took it a step higher by winning Ghana its first Gold medal to crown the day with three medals for Ghana.
Ntumi’s performance has been exceptional, especially after the host nation failed to make the medal podium in table tennis, badminton, and swimming in the opening four days of the games.
