National Communication Team Member for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Asomaning Patrick Darkwah aka Don Pope says authorities should call on Akwasi Ahwoi to disclose to the family of the Late Mills the cause of his Death.
He made this statement during a panel discussion with Bonohene Baffour Awuah on the Kasapa Fm / Agoo Tv Morning show Ghana Kasa.
Mr Ahwoi over the weekend at an event for Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, running mate to the NDC Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, asked her to prepare to become the President of the land in case the NDC wins Power because anything can happen.
Mr. Ahwoi suggested that she should be ready for any scenario that could lead to her presidency.
“John Mahama was not ready to be president at the time but nature schemed things in such a way that President Mills had to give way to John Mahama.
“Anything can happen – so, Naana, be ever prepared, as your motto says. Anything can happen and you can become the President of the Republic of Ghana,” Kwesi Ahwoi said, in a video that has since gone viral.
His comments were met with criticism from some NDC members who interpreted them to mean that he did not expect Mahama to complete a potential four-year term.
Commenting on the issue, the former Kade constituency Parliamentary Aspirant noted that if he were to be a family member of late former president Atta Mills he would have asked Akwasi Ahwoi what killed his family member because his comments could have a deeper meaning.
“So what caused the death of Atta Mills for John Mahama to become President? If I were a family member of Atta Mills, I will call on Mr Ahwoi to come and explain his Comments, Pope noted.
