R – Respect

A nation that prides itself on respect. Respect for everyone. With no discrimination whatsoever, every individual in Ghana and beyond is treated with utmost respect by all Ghanaians. Every foreign visitor is welcomed warmly and treated with so much respect regardless of his/her age, race, colour, sex etc. On the local level,r espect for the elderly is treated as a very important issue and any form of insolence or disrespect is punishable.

S – Sports

This is one area that the country has excelled in recent times. With individuals and national teams making huge impacts at international tournaments, Ghana has arrived on the world stage for sports. Famous Ghanaian boxers like Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey and Joshua Clottey have made a name for the country by winning many African as well as world titles. The national under-20 football team, the Black Satellites won the Fifa under-20 world cup in 2009 and the senior national team, the Black Stars have won the African Cup of Nations 4 times and have represented Africa at 3 editions of the FIFA world cup in 2006, 2010 and 2014. Many great footballers who have made a name in world football come from Ghana. Talk of Abedi Pele, Anthony Yeboah, Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien and Asamoah Gyan. These represent some of the biggest names Africa has ever produced in football.

T – Takoradi

Popularly known as the oil city of Ghana. This is the latest business goldmine in Ghana. With many businesses opening branches here and the city itself having many developed facilities, Takoradi is now the place to be. The city is also home to one of Ghana’s main harbours. The Takoradi Harbour is a centralised business ground for many importers and exporters. The discovery of oil in 2010 was the highlight of this great coastal city. Many investors now prefer to build businesses here as this brings about great returns quickly.

U – Unity

In unity lies strength. Ghanaians are always united no matter the differences that arise.The peace and calm in this country only goes to prove how united Ghanaians are. All political, religious, ethnic and cultural differences are all put aside when there is a common task at hand.

V – Volta Lake

With a storage capacity of 124,000,000 acre-feet (153,000,000,000 cubic m) according to the Volta River Authority, Lake Volta is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. It is a great asset to Ghana as it is one of the main sources of hydro-electric power in Ghana as it powers the Akosombo dam. It is also a transport link with tourists usually crossing it via the famous Yapei Queen ferry and many speed boats.

W – Wildlife

Ghana’s has a rich and diverse wildlife found across the country. Unfortunately there isn’t a particular  place in Ghana where you can see it all.If you are a fan of wildlife, Ghana is the place to be. Many different wildlife species are found in Ghana. Elephants, deers,antelopes and hippos are a few of the species found in national wildlife  parks as well as forests.

X – Xylophone

Northern Ghana has amazing and beautiful large unique xylophones. There are mainly two types. A big one with 16/17 keys and a smaller one with 14 keys. Many Ghanaians from the north have mastered this musical instrument and they play very harmonious and melodious tunes during various festivals, marriage ceremonies and durbars to entertain guests and the public.

Y -Youth

The youths are considered the backbone of every growing economy. It can however be said that Ghana has a very strong backbone since about 60% of the active workforce in Ghana are considered as youths between the ages of 18-35.

Z – Zeal

Ghanaians are naturally zealous people. The drive and the desire to achieve is overwhelming. From a small West African state, Ghana has grown to become one of the powerhouses in Africa in all aspects. In business, education, sports and  entertainment amongst others. The good people of Ghana stand out on the international stage as outstanding performers because of their zeal and desire to be successful.
