A two-year-old girl has met her untimely death while her mother is severely injured after her father bathed them with acid at Gomoa Pomadze in the Central Region.
Information gathered indicates that the suspect, Enoch Mensah, 35, who had issues with his girlfriend Philomena Owusu, 28, went to her house on Wednesday April 17, 2024 and informed her that he has rented a new house for her so she should go with him to see the place.
The victim in an interview with Kasapa News said she took her child on her back and went with him to see the house.
After reaching the house, the suspect took a bottle with the content suspected to be acid and poured it on her and the two year old daughter, leaving them with severe burns all over their body.
The Suspect immediately took to his heels after the act.
Because the area is a new site, nobody was there to rescue them, and she had to crawl to a nearby house before they were rushed to the hospital.
But unfortunately, the child died after arrival at the hospital due to the severe burns.
The case has been reported to the Gomoa Pomadze police for investigation.
The victim is receiving treatment at the Winneba Specialist nd Trauma Hospital while the body of the child has been deposited at the mortuary for preservation.
