Independent candidate, Kwabena Owusu contesting in the Ejisu by-election has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP of sharing money to influence the outcome of the  ongoing election.

Speaking to GHone TV after casting his vote at Ejisu Besease he questioned whether the ruling NPP would adopt a vote buying strategy if they had really worked harder in the constituency.

He further alleged that the party has a plan to implement their ballot stuffing after 3pm.

He, therefore, called on the Inspector General of Police Dr. Akufo Dampare to give him fair protection to ensure the integrity of the election.

“They are sharing money everywhere. Now the information we have is that from 3pm to 5pm, all those ballot boxes they have stuffed they have macho men who will go round operating. They will be taking away ballots that have been cast by people then they will put what they have thumbprinted. So we are also alerting the Police in all those areas to stand by.

“We are hopeful that the excellent performance that Dr. Dampare put out in Assin North we now that the same performance will be here in Ejisu constituency. So, I’m not disturbed, now no one can come and change any ballot box because Assin North the Police Service did very well. I’m expecting that the same thing happens here.”
